Dedicated (Downtime): Mum
So, Mum, firstly, Happy Birthday… I hope the weather is lovely where you are, I certainly hope it’s a little brighter than here.
I’m delighted you’re following Facebook, I’m as new to it as you are really. My mum finds my challenges a little strange at times and wonders why I put myself through these things! Why dozens of Marathons, when 1 is enough? Yet another Ironman, why? Mountains, deserts, jungles and oceans? “Haven’t you done enough now”? Is the normal comment.
She may ring the house and Sarah will tell her I’m away in a jungle somewhere and its just, par for the course. That’s what I do..
I think I’ve mentioned pursuit of human endeavour enough now. She does understand it a little more.
My mum is an incredible character, never asks for anything but is ALWAYS there giving herself, her time more than anything to all of those around her that need it.
She’s never wanted much for herself, just “an easy life thank you very much”! And her family close.
My Mother has more of an influence on me in many ways than she believes.
Not all of this comes from within.
Happy Birthday, have a great day.
Jason x
