Stef is a Royal Navy trauma and orthopaedic registrar, with a passion for adventure.

No stranger to a challenge, he’s commando trained, completed back to back ultramarathons, and more recently skied to the South Pole as part of INSPIRE 22. He’s well used to long hauls, and questionable life choices. Now, he’s trading skis for oars and ice for the ocean, ready to take on the ultimate test of endurance in the GB Row Challenge 2026.

Mike’s fresh out of the RAF where he’s been a doctor specialising in anaesthesia and aeromedical evacuation for the last 9 years. He’s now turning his skills towards his passion for using technology to improve people’s health. A keen sailor and mountaineer who has also skied to the South Pole as part of INSPIRE 22, he’s decided that a major career upheaval is the perfect time to train for a 3,500km rowing race around the UK.

Felix is an RAF emergency medicine doctor currently at Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance. As a previous Boat Race reserve and international racer, he’s now swapping to a bigger boat for the GB Row Challenge. Long night shifts should be no problem for this ol’ sea dog! 3,500km of rugged British coastline, changing tides and challenging winds – all whilst collecting valuable research – challenge accepted. Another member of the team who faced the icy conditions of Antarctica, logged his fair share of ultramarathons and proved his steel by completing an ironman. He promised his next beast would be OARSOME!! The GB Row Challenge it is.

Marco Capella (Mog)

A Fire Fighter and Fitness coach with an unusual nickname bestowed upon him! He believes the name was earned due to his unquestionable likeness to the uni-mog:

– outstanding all terrain capability
– tirelessly enduring
– ready for anything attitude

In reality though, it’s due to a pronunciation error at the hands of his young niece!!

Marco would describe himself as pretty ordinary, but he has numerous endurance events under his belt and has found bountiful success in martial arts with British, European and world titles in his collection. There is absolutely no denying, he will be willing to battle and endure whatever the GB Row Challenge has in store.

Loz is an arborist, who loves to play outside. He’s hiked up Kilimanjaro and Everest Base Camp and more recently completed the 37th Marathon Des Sables. After rowing across Loch Ness he’s decided to truly reach Valhalla! It’s got to be bigger and better.

Fergus Scott (Ferg)

Ferg is a final year engineering student at the University of Exeter. In September he completed his colossal cycle from Athens back to home and is now keen to test himself again, only this time alongside his brother (Loz) and the other compadres! When he’s not running at record pace you can find him getting his hands dirty under the car, having worked on a few rallies with Tuthill UK In Kenya. Our marathon man is currently in training for the Great West Run, Exeter. However, being one of four Helmdon boys on the team, his proudest accolade or at least the one he likes to point out the most often is the fact he is the Helmdon Hurler record holder! A speed demon, smooth talking whipper snapper who is more than up for the challenge.
