Latest blog from David Hosking on Hallin Marine II: RACE REPORT DAY 1 1/6/13:
The night before the race skipper David had his watch on board Hallin Marine II he was nervous but eager for the race start and the time alone was spent thinking about the long journey ahead.
After an early start and quick breakfast, we left the shore for the last time in (hopefully) under 26 days, and headed out to the start area. We were getting loads of texts through of support and people watching on a tower bridge webcam. Then we were off! All too suddenly it was on.
Surrounded by the other crews it was very different to our last sea trials in the thames estuary. Conditions were good, and morale was high. We are looking forward to the first night at sea.
